Melbourne Cemetery is located in Carlton, Victoria. Its construction was ordered in 1850 by an Act of Parliament to cope with the rising population, and has become the final resting place of over 500,000 Australians.

The cemetery contains a Mausoleum which was constructed in 1998, a Chinese memorial area, Chapel and crematorium (located onsite). There will also be a Holocaust Memorial forecourt.
