I can not believe i was not told by anyone. I had found from Joe and I am extremely disappointed. I am so sad to see Leon go without saying goodbye. I didn't even know he died. My deepest condolences to Molly and Cathy.

I know this 2012 but I've only just heard of Leon passing & I am deeply saddened. He & his father taught me guitar in the 70's and I have very fond memories of both of them. It was only in 2007 I ran into Leon & had a pleasant chat. My deepest sympathies to wife & daughter.

I have only just learned of Leon's passing. I can't believe it. I started guitar with Leon and Mr. Contogeorge in 1972 and continued until about 1990. Leon and I shared the same birth date and he was a beautiful friend. Bet heaven is have a great jam session. Thanks Leon for some great laughs.

I was taught how to play by Leon in the mid 90's, I always have had fond memories of my time with Leon, and his fantasic character. My sympathies to his family, I only wish I had known earlier.

Growing up the contogeorge family was like a second home to me. Leon taught me guitar through private lessons and then through primary and later high school each week. From his jokes, to fun charismatic nature and fantastic style of teaching, leon was not just an amazing instructor and guitarist, he was a dear friend who will be missed by so many. Im sure he would still be playing the flamenco and classical guitar which he loved, from up above, as well as the great classics such as hey jude and jailhouse rock. Miss ya leon, could never forget that sweet waltz, slide melody and spanish exercise you taught me <3
